Marbella’s Cleansing Department Upgrades Fleet with Seven New Specialised Vehicles
Marbella’s sanitation department has successfully completed the renewal of its fleet by adding seven new specialised vehicles. This move is part of a larger plan initiated last year to replace a total of 138 units.
Councillor Diego López Highlights New Vehicle Features
Councillor Diego López shared that the new additions include three rear-loading lorries with capacities of 16, 9 and 5 cubic metres. These vehicles are designed to operate in areas where the side-loading system is not feasible, such as large shopping centres, industrial areas and spaces with limited access. López emphasized their robustness and efficiency in waste compaction, ensuring optimal collection in these more challenging environments.
Ecological Boom Trucks Added to the Fleet
In addition to the rear-loading lorries, the fleet has been enhanced with three ecological boom trucks. Each truck has a capacity of 20 cubic metres and comes equipped with integrated cranes. These cranes facilitate the handling of underground and above-ground containers, enabling safer and more efficient collection at recycling points and hard-to-reach areas.
Introduction of a Bivalve Vehicle for Large-Scale Waste Collection
López also mentioned the addition of a bivalve vehicle to the fleet, specifically designed for the collection of large amounts of waste. This vehicle allows the service to respond swiftly to exceptional situations, such as large-scale events or emergencies.
Marbella’s Commitment to a Cleaner and More Efficient Town
The councillor concluded by reiterating Marbella’s commitment to becoming a cleaner and more efficient town. He assured that these new additions to the fleet will guarantee a more cared-for environment for both residents and visitors.
