Marbella Bolsters Public Safety with New Police Recruits
In a bid to enhance public safety, the town of Marbella on the Costa del Sol has welcomed twenty new officers to its Local Police force. The new recruits, who have undergone nine months of rigorous training at the academy, were officially sworn in at a ceremony attended by the town’s mayor, Ángeles Muñoz.
Mayor Muñoz Commits to Further Strengthening the Force
During the event, Mayor Muñoz expressed the municipal government’s commitment to continue equipping the force with more material and human resources. She was joined by the area’s councillor, José Eduardo Díaz, and the head of the Local Police, Javier Martín. The mayor described the day as highly emotional, acknowledging the hard work required to pass the competitive examinations that hundreds of candidates had applied for.
New Recruits Praised for Their Hard Work and Dedication
Mayor Muñoz expressed her gratitude to the new officers for their immense effort in becoming the top 20 candidates. She announced that they would be immediately deployed to various services on the streets. She emphasized that safety remains a top priority for the government team and revealed plans to further expand the Local Police force next year.

The ceremony, held at the Adolfo Suárez conference and exhibition Centre, also saw Javier Martín, the head of the Local Police, addressing the new officers. He encouraged them to apply everything they had learned at the academy as they begin their duties. He urged them to serve with enthusiasm, honesty, and loyalty, so that the town’s residents can take pride in their work.
