Marbella’s Holy Week Processions to be Heart-Safe for the Second Year
The procession of Christ of Love on Holy Thursday in Marbella will be heart-safe for the second consecutive year. This initiative is made possible by the Red Cross, with the support of the Brotherhood Association. Each procession will be equipped with a defibrillator, and training courses have been conducted to enable brotherhood members, Civil Protection members, and volunteers to use them effectively.
Red Cross Local Assembly in Marbella Joins the Initiative
The Local Assembly of the Red Cross in Marbella is joining this initiative for the second year in a row, which was first launched in 2023. The aim is to make Holy Week a heart-safe event. The goal of this initiative is to have as many people as possible trained to act quickly in any emergency situation where someone’s life is in danger until professional help arrives.
Free Training in the Use of Semi-Automatic External Defibrillators
On this occasion, members of the brotherhoods, Civil Protection, and Red Cross volunteers have received free training in the use of Semi-Automatic External Defibrillators (AEDs). All of them actively participate in the festivities, acquiring the necessary knowledge and skills for basic life support.
Red Cross Volunteers in Marbella to Provide AEDs for Each Procession
It will be the Red Cross volunteers in Marbella who will provide each procession with an AED to accompany each brotherhood and be used in case of need. This initiative was launched last year by the Local Assembly, led by Susana Radío, to protect health during Holy Week and ensure a quick and effective response to critical situations.
