Starlite Occident Festival 2024: A Summer of Music and Diversity
The Starlite Occident festival, a summer-long event in Marbella, concluded its 2024 edition with a record-breaking attendance of over 350,000 people from 96 different nationalities. The festival boasted over 600 hours of live music, spread across 300 performances.
Economic Impact and Job Creation
A study by PWC, shared by the festival organisers in a press release, revealed that the festival’s annual impact on GDP exceeds 315 million euros. Furthermore, the Starlite Occident festival also created over a thousand jobs.
International Artists and State-of-the-Art Stage
From 14 June to 31 August, the festival hosted a plethora of internationally acclaimed artists at the Nagüeles quarry, reinforcing its prestigious position in the global festival scene. The 2024 edition of Starlite Occident featured the largest stage in the festival’s history, making it the biggest fixed stage in Spain and one of the largest in the world set in a natural environment.
Revolutionary Sound System and Digitalisation Project
The festival also introduced the world’s most advanced sound system, Holoplot, which, combined with the quarry’s natural acoustics, offered the audience an unparalleled live music experience. Additionally, the festival launched the Tur-Experience digitalisation project to customise each attendee’s experience and implemented measures to improve crowd flow and reduce queues.
Star-Studded Lineup
This year’s lineup included special performances by Luis Miguel, Van Morrison, and Sebastián Yatra. Other international stars included Take That, Keane, Jamie Cullum, Simple Minds, Tom Jones, Julian Marley and The Uprising, The Corrs, Nick Carter, Sheryl Crow, Diana Krall, Ara Malikian and Hauser.
Latin and Spanish Music Icons
Latin music was well-represented with performances by Ricky Martin, Farruko, Myke Towers, Justin Quiles, Manuel Turizo, Camilo, Carlos Vives, Emilia, Christian Nodal, and Lila Downs. Spanish music icons such as Hombres G, Los Secretos, Pablo López, Melendi, Maldita Nerea, Vanesa Martín, Malú, Plácido Domingo, La Oreja de Van Gogh, Aitana, Ana Mena, Rels B, Taburete, Marlon, Paula Mattheus, Abraham Mateo, Nil Moliner, and Antonio José also graced the stage.
Flamenco Artists and Children’s Entertainment
Renowned flamenco artists like Sara Baras, Siempre Así, and Miguel Poveda performed at the festival, along with the entertaining Gipsy Kings featuring Nicolas Reyes. The festival also catered to younger audiences with performances by the children’s group Cantajuego.
