Fiesta Marbella Music Festival Cancels Majority of Scheduled Concerts
The Fiesta Marbella music festival, originally set to take place from 7 to 11 August at the historic Marbella bullring, has announced the cancellation of all but one of its scheduled concerts. Festival promoters Steve Durham and Bill Blenkarn have confirmed that the Pete Tong Ibiza Classics concert, featuring Jules Buckley and The Essential Orchestra, will proceed as planned on Saturday, 10 August at Marbella Arena.
Only One Concert to Proceed Amidst Cancellations
Despite the widespread cancellations, the Pete Tong Ibiza Classics concert remains unaffected. However, the other planned events, including The Arena of Dreams (7 August), Nancy Ajram (8 August), Blue, Chesney Hawkes and Madcon (9 August), and the Drum and Bass night (11 August), will not be taking place.
Organisers Offer Refunds and Ticket Swaps
The festival organisers have extended their apologies to ticket holders of the cancelled shows, offering them the opportunity to exchange their tickets for the Pete Tong Ibiza Classics concert or to apply for a full refund. They explained that the decision to cancel was due to the transitory nature of Marbella in the summer and the reliance on last-minute sales, which posed too great a risk.
Plans for Bigger and Better Festival Next Year
Despite the setback, the organisers have expressed their intention to return next year with an even bigger and better festival. They have also reassured ticket holders that the process for switching their tickets or requesting a refund will be straightforward and will be communicated via email.
Charity Commitments Remain Despite Cancellations
FIESTA will continue to uphold their charity commitments amidst the cancellations. All five charity partners have been invited to attend the Pete Tong Ibiza Classics show on Saturday, 10 August at Marbella Arena, providing them with a platform to showcase their work and raise funds.
