Young British Resident of Marbella Shines on La Voz Kids
An 11-year-old British girl living in Marbella has turned her dream into reality by appearing on La Voz Kids, a renowned television talent show aired on Antena 3. Carmen Holden, who moved to the Costa del Sol town with her parents in 2015, successfully passed the blind audition stage of the show with her rendition of Lady Gaga’s song, Always Remember Us This Way (from the hit movie A Star is Born), earning her a spot on Lola Indigo’s team.
From Karaoke with Grandpa to the Big Stage
Carmen, who started singing at the tender age of four, has always had a passion for singing, particularly when visiting her grandfather’s house where they both enjoy his karaoke machine. The young talent also receives support from her elder brother, Max, 15, a guitar player, and her father, Ian, who she says “sings a little at home”.
Marbella’s Rising Stars on La Voz Kids
During her pre-performance interview, Carmen, who started taking dance lessons about three years ago, admitted to “being a little nervous and emotional”, but was “really excited to perform on the show”. Carmen’s mother, Angela, who hails from Edinburgh, told SUR in English that her daughter began singing “as soon as she could talk”.
Costa del Sol’s Young Talents Shine on La Voz Kids
Carmen is among several young talents from Costa del Sol who have made it through the blind audition phase of La Voz Kids, including the band Minuto y Medio, Astrid Verweij, and Vera Lukash. Another local 11-year-old, Amor López from Ciudad Jardín in Malaga city, has also successfully passed the blind audition phase of the show.
