Swedish Expat Hospitalized Following Marbella Shooting

In a shocking incident, a Swedish expat was hospitalized after being shot in Marbella. The Policia Nacional have arrested three individuals in connection with the shooting. The incident occurred at 11pm on February 10 in Nueva Andalucia, a popular expat hotspot in Marbella.

Details of the Drive-by Attack

The victims, both Swedish men, were walking on a pavement when they were targeted by a man in a balaclava armed with a gun. One of the victims had to seek treatment at the Hospital Costa del Sol for gunshot wounds to his arms and legs.

Arrests Made in Connection with the Shooting

The Policia Nacional, in collaboration with Swedish police, have arrested three individuals for their involvement in the shooting. The charges against them include illegal ownership of firearms, affiliation with a criminal organization, and falsification of documents.

Investigation Leads to Discovery of Weapon

During the investigation, code-named ‘Falla’, the police discovered the discharged weapon hidden in plants near the scene. The three suspects, aged between 24 and 31 years old, were arrested on March 13 following house raids in Marbella and Alhaurin El Grande.

Shooting Believed to be Result of Gang Rivalry

Police sources believe the shooting was the result of a feud between rival gangs. This incident is one of several shootings that have shaken Marbella this month, following a surge in gang-related violence.

Recent Shootings in Marbella

On Saturday, a 20-year old man was injured when a gunman opened fire in the direction of a shisha bar in upscale Puerto Banus. On February 12, gunshots were fired in a separate incident in Nueva Andalucia. The Costa del Sol has become a hotspot for drug smuggling and organized crime, with gang warfare becoming increasingly common.

Marbella Shootings: A Growing Concern

The recent spate of shootings in Marbella has raised concerns among locals and authorities alike. The shocking attack in Puerto Banus is the fourth in a month, leading to calls for increased security measures. In another incident, a 20-year-old reveller was shot inside a bar in Puerto Banus, causing panic among the shocked British tourists present. In a Hollywood-style drive-by attack, a Nordic expat was gunned down in the middle of the street.
