Amazon Series Seeks Extras for Marbella Filming
A production company is on the hunt for extras for an undisclosed Amazon series set to be filmed in Marbella. The plot of the series will revolve around the town’s opulent lifestyle. This follows a month of filming activity in the region, with Netflix shooting its enigmatic series Seven Dials in Ronda, featuring Game of Thrones star Iain Glen, and the filming of the movie Mango in Vélez-Málaga.
Open Casting Call for Elegant Extras
The latest casting call is inviting young adults and adults, both male and female, of any ethnicity, who are over 18 years old. The extras are expected to portray an “elegant and upper class” image to align with the series’ focus on Marbella’s luxurious lifestyle. Approximately 100 extras will be involved in scenes starting to be filmed from the upcoming Monday, 7th October. Filming will also occur in Malaga city. The casting is targeting residents of Fuengirola, Mijas, Marbella, and Estepona. Interested individuals can reach out via a WhatsApp message on 669 367 810.
Behind the Scenes: Ánima Stillking
The new international series filming is brought to the region by Malaga-based service production company Ánima Stillking. The company was established last March by the former management team of Fresco Film and has already facilitated the filming of the romantic comedy Mango in the province. The film, directed by Netflix’s Danish romantic comedy king Mehdi Avaz, has just wrapped up filming in the Axarquía, where the plot revolves around a Danish executive setting up a hotel in a mango plantation owned by a secretive lawyer.
Amazon Takes Over Filming
Amazon is now stepping in to film and is turning its sights to Marbella and the Costa del Sol for this new series, which will record two episodes after filming in the UK. The multinational platform has previously set one of its major Spanish subsidiary premieres, Los Farad, in the same location. The story of Los Farad, a family of international arms dealers who enjoy jet set parties, is reminiscent of Adnan Khashoggi, a regular at these lavish parties on the Golden Mile in the 80s.
Marbella: A Hotspot for Filming
The filming of the new Amazon series adds to the recent surge of Marbella and its lifestyle as a popular theme and location for fiction in the past year. Titles include Los Farad, along with several series that explore drug trafficking and corruption such as Clanes (Netflix) and Marbella (Movistar), and the film El Correo. Other series inspired by the legendary discotheque Olivia Valere, Eva y Nicole (Atresmedia), and the international series set in World War II, We Were The Lucky Ones (Disney), also join the list.
