Azahara Muñoz returned to competition this weekend, participating in the LPGA Drive On Championship held in Brandenton, Florida, where the best international players gathered. The Spanish golfer, who is in her 15th season on the American circuit, started off with an extraordinary scorecard at the Brandenton Country Club, with a birdie on the 10th hole (she started on the back nine).

Impressive Performance in the First Two Days

She continued to shine in her first nine holes, managing to get four strokes under par. However, three bogeys and another birdie allowed her to complete the first day of competition with a score of -2. On the second day of the tournament, she again put on a good performance, with four birdies and three bogeys, ending the day with a score of one under par. With -3 overall, Azahara Muñoz had no trouble making the cut.

Challenging Third Day and Final Round

The third day was not as successful, as she struggled in the second half of the course, ending the day with 75 strokes (+4). In the final round, Azahara signed off with two bogeys and a birdie, concluding her participation in the first tournament of the season with a final score of +2.

Nelly Korda Claims Victory in Florida Tournament

The victory in the Florida tournament went to American Nelly Korda, who finished with 273 strokes (-11) and won in the final playoff against New Zealander Lydia Ko.
