Malaga’s Wealthiest Residents Choose Alhaurin de la Torre and Rincon de la Victoria

New data has revealed the preferred residential locations of the wealthiest individuals in Malaga province. Contrary to popular belief, Marbella, a well-known hotspot for the affluent, does not top the list this year. In fact, it doesn’t even hold the second spot. The National Institute of Statistics (INE) reports that the richest families are choosing to reside in Alhaurin de la Torre and Rincon de la Victoria.

Alhaurin de la Torre and Rincon de la Victoria: The New Wealth Hubs

In Alhaurin de la Torre, the average net income per household in 2021 was €35,562, according to the most recent data available. Rincon de la Victoria followed closely with an average household income of €34,365. Marbella, which has previously topped the list, saw an average income just shy of €30,000.

Proximity to Malaga City: A Key Factor

Both Alhaurin de la Torre and Rincon de la Victoria are located closer to Malaga city, which is rapidly emerging as a business and tech hub. This makes these areas attractive options for workers in these industries, who typically earn more than the average individual.

Malaga: The Seventh Poorest Province in Spain

Despite the wealth concentrated in Alhaurin de la Torre and Rincon de la Victoria, the data reveals that Malaga is the seventh poorest province in Spain in terms of per capita income. The average individual in the province earns just €10,929.
