Four Seasons Hotel Project in Costa del Sol Gains Momentum
The construction of a brand new Four Seasons hotel on the Costa del Sol is moving forward. The project in Marbella is set to commence this summer, following a €650 million investment commitment from local business tycoon Ricardo Arranz.
Job Creation and Economic Boost Expected
The development in the Rio Real area is anticipated to generate up to 4,000 jobs during the construction phase and around 770 permanent positions thereafter. This significant employment boost comes at a crucial time, as the region seeks to recover from the economic impact of the pandemic.
Project Revival After Initial Stagnation
The first stone of the project was laid almost five years ago by the Junta’s then President Susana Diaz, but no further progress was made. However, recent reports from La Razon suggest that sufficient investment has now been secured to kickstart the project.
Secrecy Surrounds Project Progress
This week, a source informed the Olive Press that the project is gradually advancing, albeit in a very secretive manner. Four Seasons, which operates 119 hotels and resorts in 47 countries worldwide, currently has only one establishment in Spain, the stunning five-star hotel in central Madrid.
Details of the Ambitious Project
The new project is set to be far more ambitious, spanning over 500,000 m2 and boasting around one-kilometer of coastline. The complex, masterminded by architect Richard Meier, will feature a 165-room hotel, 260 private residences, and 40 luxury villas.
Exclusive Gastronomical Experience Planned
In addition to its luxurious accommodations, the hotel is also expected to offer an exclusive gastronomical experience, with high-quality restaurants helmed by renowned chefs.
Key Investor’s Other Ventures
Key investor Arranz is the owner of the upscale five-star Anantana Villa Padierna Spa, which has hosted famous guests such as Michelle Obama, Jennifer Lopez, and Gwyneth Paltrow. A representative at Villa Padierna clarified that the hotel has no connection to the new Four Seasons project and declined to comment on Arranz’s private affairs. Four Seasons hotel costa del sol
