San Pedro Alcántara Gears Up for Traditional Christmas Market
The quaint town of San Pedro Alcántara, nestled in the heart of Costa del Sol, is all set to host its annual Christmas market. The festive event is scheduled for Saturday, 14th December, and will run from 10am to 7pm. The market promises a lively atmosphere with over 40 stalls, live music, and a variety of entertainment options.
Boosting Local Economy and Revitalising the Town Centre
The Christmas market is part of a broader initiative aimed at rejuvenating the local economy and injecting life into the town centre during the holiday season. Deputy Mayor Javier García emphasised the market’s role in promoting local businesses and encouraging residents to shop locally.
Market Location and Offerings
The bustling activity will unfold across several streets in the town, including Calles Lagasca, Marqués del Duero, Pozo, and Córdoba. Visitors can look forward to a diverse range of stalls, including food vendors, charity shops like Aspandem and Cudeca, and the province of Malaga cheese association. The market will also feature stalls selling children’s and youth fashion, footwear, and jewellery.
Entertainment Highlights and Charity Initiatives
Deputy Mayor García revealed some of the entertainment highlights of the event. These include a charity snack at the Hanna churrería, a street parade by the town’s Maestro Ramón Mayén band, bouncy castles, and magicians. The Aires del Sur choir is also slated to perform at the event.
Supporting Businesses Beyond the Town Centre
García further explained that the Christmas market initiative also aims to draw attention to businesses located outside the town centre of San Pedro. This move is expected to boost the visibility and patronage of these establishments during the festive season.
