Progress is being made on the new Parque del Mediterráneo in Marbella, situated near El Pinillo beach and Río Real, to the east of the town centre. Four sand courts for sports like football, handball, and beach volleyball have been finished. Diego López from the council stated that the park is intended to be a gathering spot for both athletes and families. He also mentioned that 500 trees are being planted in the 50,000-square-meter area, which is set to open before the summer of 2024. The project, costing 2.4 million euros, will also include an auditorium and a car park with room for 250 vehicles.
