Major works on road from Elviria to La Mairena under way to improve safety

Major Renovation Project Launched for Avenida de España in Marbella

Avenida de España, located in the Elviria district of eastern Marbella, is one of the most frequently used residential roads in the Costa municipality. The town hall has initiated a significant renovation project to address the road’s dilapidated condition and enhance road safety. The project is expected to take approximately three months to complete.

Councillor Diego López Highlights Importance of Renovation

Diego López, the Councillor for Works, has referred to the road leading to La Mairena as a crucial artery in the area. The road is used daily by over 15 buses and is a common route for numerous families with children attending local schools, as well as local residents. López emphasized the necessity and demand for the project.

Renovation to Focus on Resurfacing and Safety Improvements

López outlined that the renovation work will be conducted between the Antonio Zarco and La Mairena roundabouts, where the road surface is in the poorest condition. Tree roots have created potholes and bumps, posing a risk to vehicle safety. The project, which is estimated to take three months, will concentrate on resurfacing three sections of the road, eliminating potholes caused by tree roots, improving the road surface to reduce slipperiness, and installing protective barriers.
