Puerto Banús: A Beacon of Luxury Sees a Surge in High-End Shop Turnover
Puerto Banús, a name synonymous with opulence, has witnessed an 8.9% increase in the turnover of its high-end shops this summer compared to the previous one. This information comes directly from the port’s management, who attribute the growth to the world-renowned Marbella quaysides.
Exclusive International Tourism Fuels the Growth
The summer season’s success is primarily driven by exclusive international tourism, responsible for 75% of the purchases. Juan Núñez, the marina’s CEO, anticipates that if this trend persists throughout the year, 2024 will conclude with a staggering 307 million euros in sales from the luxury boutiques surrounding the marina.
Impact on Marbella’s Economy and Job Market
Such a financial windfall is not just about the numbers. It signifies a substantial impact on Marbella’s economy, both in terms of job creation and income generation. Puerto Banús is second only to Madrid in Spain for the highest concentration of luxury retail outlets.
The United States and Arab Markets Drive the Surge
The management has identified the United States and Arab markets as the primary drivers behind this year’s surge. This international interest in Puerto Banús’s luxury offerings underscores the port’s global appeal and its continued growth in the luxury retail sector.
