Marbella’s Brotherhood of El Rocío Announces Pilgrimage Start for Previous Year
The Brotherhood of El Rocío in Marbella has released details about the preparatory events for the 2024 Pentecost Pilgrimage. The events include a triduum, a solemn function, and a proclamation by Pedro Narváez. The pilgrimage will commence on May 14, followed by a return and a Thanksgiving Mass to conclude the event.
Triduum and Holy Mass Schedule
The triduum and Holy Mass will take place on April 17, 18, and 19 at the Parish of Our Lady of the Incarnation at 7 p.m. Prior to this, at 6:30 p.m., the Holy Rosary will be recited. The intentions for the first day will be for the sick and deceased members of the Brotherhood. On the second day, prayers will be specially offered for the youth of the Brotherhood. The third day will be dedicated to new members and pilgrims.
Solemn Function and Proclamation
The Solemn Function will be held on Saturday, April 20, at the parish at 8 p.m., presided over and preached by Francisco Pérez González, the Emeritus Archbishop of Pamplona and Emeritus Bishop of Tudela. This will be followed by the XXXIX Rociero Proclamation by Pedro Narváez, introduced by Francisco Gil.
Pilgrimage and Worship Events
The pilgrimage will begin on Tuesday, May 14, with the Pilgrims’ Mass at the Parish of the Incarnation at 8:30 a.m. This will be followed by a procession through the streets of Marbella. At midnight, the Holy Rosary will be recited in Playeros. On Wednesday, May 15, at noon, the Angelus prayer will be recited, followed by the celebration of the Holy Mass upon arrival at the stop.
Prayers and Celebrations During the Journey
On Thursday, May 16, at noon, the Angelus prayer will be recited. During the days in the Village, the Angelus will be prayed at noon in front of the Simpecado, and the Marbella Brotherhood will join the worship events organized by the Matrix Brotherhood. On the return journey, on Tuesday, May 21, the Angelus prayer will be recited at noon and the Rosary at midnight. On Wednesday, May 22, the Angelus prayer will be recited at noon, followed by the celebration of the Holy Mass upon arrival at the stop.
Arrival at the Parish and Thanksgiving Mass
On Thursday, May 23, the group will arrive at the parish, making a pilgrimage before the image of the Virgin of Carmen and performing the Jubilee Year acts. On Saturday, May 25, at the Parish of Our Lady of the Incarnation at 8 p.m., the Thanksgiving Mass will be held.
