Eva Longoria Stars in Marbella Tourism Campaign at Fitur Fair

American actress Eva Longoria has taken center stage in an advertising campaign designed to boost Marbella’s profile at the Fitur international tourism fair in Madrid. The campaign was unveiled on Tuesday, just before the fair’s commencement on Wednesday, at the NuBel restaurant located in the Reina Sofía Museum in Madrid. The campaign was introduced by Marbella’s deputy mayor Félix Romero, as mayor Ángeles Muñoz was unable to attend due to a recent serious fall.

Longoria’s Love for Marbella

Longoria is not just a celebrity face for the campaign, but a genuine advocate for Marbella. She frequently chooses the city as her holiday destination, invests in the area, and is involved in local charity initiatives such as Casa Ángeles. The campaign video, available in both English and Spanish, features a conversation with her friend María Bravo, president of the Global Gift Foundation, where Longoria speaks highly of Marbella, describing it as a place with a “wonderful energy.”

Marbella’s Presence at Fitur

From Wednesday to Sunday at Fitur, the Junta de Andalucía will showcase a 145-square-metre stand, promising greater visibility and a prime location compared to previous years. The stand will highlight around 20 national and international events scheduled to take place in Marbella in the coming months, including the new version of the Starlite Festival and the Ironman 70.3 World Championship. Over 60 business meetings with tour operators and agencies are also on the agenda.

Marbella’s Tourism Achievements

Marbella’s tourism credentials are further bolstered by prestigious accolades such as the European best destination 2024, recognition by the Arab League as a European destination of honour, membership of UN tourism, and its representation in Beijing as part of the world federation of tourist cities. This is in addition to a promotional campaign launched in the United States.

Record-Breaking Year for Marbella

Marbella set new records in eight months of 2024, achieving unprecedented revenue per available hotel room. Occupancy rates from April to October were near an impressive 80% average. The town hall plans to continue its focus on innovation, sustainability, and excellence in 2025, with major events like the Ironman 70.3 World Championship expected to attract over 6,000 international athletes and generate more than 30 million euros.

Upcoming Events and Initiatives

Other planned events include the federation of tourist cities conference, the DUCO convention, and a private luxury event. Promotional activities in Arab countries are also in the pipeline, along with the second phase of the major cities tourism plan, backed by a budget of 5.1 million euros.
