San Pedro Alcántara Town Hall Announces Comprehensive Plan for Parque de los Tres Jardines

The town hall of San Pedro Alcántara, located on the western Costa del Sol, has announced a tender for a comprehensive plan to conserve, maintain, and improve the Parque de los Tres Jardines. Deputy Mayor Javier García highlighted the park’s significance as a major green infrastructure in the town, spanning over 83,000 square meters. It serves as a popular gathering spot for residents, necessitating enhancements such as the ongoing remodeling of the dog park.

Details of the Tender and Future Plans

García revealed that the tender drafting process was completed on November 14. The next steps involve the evaluation of objective and subjective criteria by municipal staff, followed by the awarding of the contract. By 2025, a specialized company will be appointed to ensure the park’s optimal condition. The deputy mayor further detailed that the program, with an annual budget of 400,000 euros, will run until 2028.

Conservation, Maintenance, and Improvement Measures

The comprehensive plan aims to conserve, maintain, and prune the park’s meadows, bushes, and trees. It also includes the care and expansion of irrigation and drainage networks, as well as new plantings. García also mentioned plans to restore the Arab garden and expand the barbecue area, which is popular among families.

Enhancements to the Dog Park

The deputy mayor emphasized the importance of the dog park remodeling, a 40,000-euro project that responds to user demands. The project includes replacing urban furniture in the recreation area, improving the paving of the pedestrian path and the perimeter fencing, and installing two new entrances. The training area will also be updated with the addition of new play elements.
