San Pedro Alcántara’s El Nazareno Completes Its Holy Thursday Procession
The El Nazareno of San Pedro Alcántara successfully completed its Holy Thursday procession. The Holy Week of San Pedro Alcántara 2024 continues to be celebrated without any issues. This Holy Thursday, the two scheduled processions took place. On one hand, the procession of El Nazareno and María de los Dolores, which had a slightly shorter route than planned, and to complete the night, the procession of the Crucified Christ and the Virgin of Silence, which started earlier than scheduled.
Processions Proceed Despite Rain Threat
After a day of anxiety, where it seemed that the Holy Thursday processions in San Pedro Alcántara would have to be cancelled due to rain, all the floats were finally able to be enjoyed. In the first parade, that of El Nazareno and María de los Dolores, the new route, which was inaugurated last Palm Sunday with a passage through the Catalanes neighborhood, was shortened.
Route Details and Musical Accompaniment
After arriving from Pablo Ruiz Picasso Avenue to the Marqués del Duero roundabout, the journey to the west was eliminated to turn left and return to the Church Square. It was a two and a half hour itinerary, until 10:30 pm, to be enjoyed later, without any rush, with the enclosure. Jesus Nazareno was accompanied by the Musical Group Maestro Manuel Pozo Lifona from Almodóvar del Rio (Córdoba). María Santísima de los Dolores paraded alongside the Symphonic Band Association “Amando Herrero” from Algeciras (Cádiz).
Midnight Procession of the Crucified Christ and Our Lady of Silence
The procession of the Crucified Christ and Our Lady of Silence, which was scheduled for 1 in the morning, finally started around 00:20 hours. Its route is shorter and it closed a great Holy Thursday in Marbella, overcoming the bad omens that were present in the morning. In this way, the Holy Week of San Pedro Alcántara has celebrated all the processions scheduled so far.
