Marbella Taxi Driver’s Vehicle Stolen from Health Centre Rank
In a shocking incident this week, a taxi driver from Marbella had his vehicle stolen from the Las Albarizas health centre rank where he had parked it. The vehicle was later found in La Línea, a city in the Cadiz province, two hours after the incident.
Driver Left Engine Running to Keep Air Conditioning On
Taxisol Marbella’s president, Víctor Vázquez, revealed that the driver had stepped out of the vehicle to purchase a soft drink, taking the car keys with him but leaving the engine running to maintain the air conditioning. The thief, who had been observing, seized the opportunity to drive away the running vehicle.
Vehicle Located in La Línea Despite Switched Off Geolocation System
The Taxisol headquarters attempted to track the vehicle using their geolocation system. However, the taxi driver had turned off the radio, rendering the system ineffective. Despite this, the vehicle was found in La Línea two hours later, with the owner being informed by a call from the Guardia Civil. The driver was able to retrieve his vehicle the next morning.
Second Recent Incident Involving Marbella Taxi Driver
This is the second recent incident involving a taxi driver in Marbella. In a previous incident reported by SUR, a driver was stabbed and robbed of his mobile phone by two passengers he had picked up. The assailants were later caught and are currently in custody.
Driver Sustains Serious Injuries in Attempted Stabbing
The victim reported to SUR that the attacker had attempted to stab him in the chest. He was able to fend off the attack, but sustained serious injuries to his left hand in the process. He received approximately thirty stitches after undergoing surgery the same night.
