Annual Gala Dinner by Age Concern Marbella-San Pedro Attracts 100 Attendees
Approximately 100 individuals had the pleasure of attending the annual gala dinner night of Age Concern Marbella-San Pedro. The event took place at the Guadalmina Golf Club on Friday, 17 May. The attendees, comprising of members and supporters of the charity, were treated to welcome drinks and canapes upon their arrival.
Live Music and Three-Course Dinner Highlight the Night
The attendees were then seated for a sumptuous three-course dinner, accompanied by live music from Costa’s favourite, Mr Maph. The evening was not just about food and music, but also about supporting a noble cause.
Fundraising Raffle and Charity Auction Add Excitement to the Event
The event also featured a fundraising raffle and a charity auction, where a selection of special items were up for bidding. Among the items were a gentleman’s manometro watch from the globally acclaimed Italian designer Guiliano Mazzuoli and a framed football shirt autographed by the legendary Arsenal centre-back, Terry Neill.
Event Raises 4,815 Euros for Charity
The gala dinner night was successful in raising 4,815 euros. The charity announced that the funds would be used to support the older English-speaking residents in Marbella and San Pedro.
Funds to Support Social and Activity Centre and New Hardship Fund
The aim of the event was to raise funds to sustain and expand the charity’s social and activity centre in San Pedro Alcántara. Additionally, the funds will also be used to kickstart a new hardship fund, designed to provide temporary financial assistance to older expats in need.
President Expresses Gratitude for Continued Support
Carol Woolnoth, the President of the charity, expressed her gratitude to everyone for their support. She emphasized that the continued support is crucial in financing the numerous activities carried out by the charity.
