Collective Calling: A Charity Making a Difference in Spain and Tanzania
Collective Calling, a charity based in Costa del Sol, is dedicated to tackling the urgent problem of homelessness in Spain and supporting street children in Tanzania. The organization’s mission in Tanzania is to provide comprehensive support, empowerment, and long-term solutions to individuals and communities affected by homelessness, poverty, and social exclusion. In Spain, the charity aims to restore dignity to the homeless community through a mobile shower unit.
Salon Maher Partners with Collective Calling
Inspired by the work and commitment of Collective Calling, Salon Maher in Marbella has decided to partner with the charity until the end of the year. The salon aims to raise awareness for the charity’s cause and encourage donations by offering promotional materials, a collection tin, and charity candles for sale at the salon. Supporters of Collective Calling are also invited to visit the salon before the year ends, using the charity code COLLECTIVE10. For every use of this code, Salon Maher will donate 10% to Collective Calling.
Shared Syrian Roots
The bond between the charity and the salon is strong, as both Collective Calling and salon owner Maher Mansour have roots in Syria and have personally experienced the refugee crisis. Mansour, who once had a celebrity following in Syria, had to flee the war in 2013. Arriving in the Netherlands as a refugee, he used his experience, talent, and work ethic to build a successful business from scratch. Today, he owns two successful salons in the Netherlands and a thriving salon in Marbella.
Supporting Refugees
Gemma Carr from Collective Calling shared that the charity was originally established to assist Syrian refugees in Greece. She expressed delight at Maher’s success story and gratitude for his salon’s support of their cause for the rest of the year. Transforming Access to Hygiene
Collective Calling’s latest project is a mobile shower unit designed to support homeless people on the Costa del Sol.
