Age Concern Marbella/San Pedro Launches ’10 Euros a Month’ Appeal
Age Concern Marbella/San Pedro has announced the launch of its new campaign, the ’10 euros a month’ appeal. This initiative is aimed at providing assistance and support to the elderly, particularly those living alone. The charity revealed this campaign last week as part of several projects planned for the upcoming Christmas season.
Expanding Home Visit Services and Outreach Programmes
The ’10 euros a month’ appeal encourages individuals to donate ten euros monthly. The funds raised will be used to enhance the charity’s home visit service, a crucial tool in combating loneliness and isolation among the elderly. Additionally, the campaign aims to strengthen the outreach programmes at two local care homes.
Boosting Social Activities at Community Centre
Age Concern Marbella/San Pedro also plans to use the funds to expand its social activities at the community centre in San Pedro. The charity believes that these activities play a significant role in improving the quality of life of the elderly in the community.
Spokesperson’s Call for Support
Steve Marshall, the spokesperson for the charity, expressed his hopes for the campaign. He emphasized the importance of the season of goodwill and how it could resonate with people. Marshall highlighted the charity’s achievements, stating that they have already helped over 600 individuals. However, he stressed that many more require their support. He also mentioned that the monthly donations would aid in recruiting and training more volunteers.
