Unexpected Closure of Centro Único Beauty Salons Leaves Clients Baffled
In a surprising turn of events, clients of Centro Único beauty salons in Marbella and Fuengirola have been left in confusion as they found the premises closed upon arrival for their scheduled appointments. The business has abruptly shut its doors without any prior notice or explanation, leaving many clients in the lurch.
Consumer Complaints Indicate Hundreds Could Be Affected
Consumer organization Facua and other consumer offices have been flooded with queries and complaints regarding the sudden closure. It is estimated that hundreds of people between the two towns could be affected, and the number is expected to rise as more customers continue to show up for their appointments.
Local Shop Assistant Expresses Concern Over Sudden Closure
A shop assistant from a store next to Centro Único in La Cañada, Marbella, expressed her concern over the sudden closure. She mentioned that clients continue to show up for their appointments, only to find the clinic closed. The staff was also kept in the dark about the closure.
Customers Demand Refunds for Unfulfilled Services
Many customers, who had prepaid for their treatments, are now demanding refunds. One such customer, Vilma Nélida Sueldo, had purchased a voucher for ten laser sessions for her granddaughter, of which only two were completed. Another customer, Susana, had spent over 1,200 euros on radiofrequency treatments, which are now rendered useless due to the abrupt interruption.
Company Goes into Administration, Closes Majority of Centres
The company has filed for bankruptcy, resulting in the closure of 115 centres across Spain, which constitutes more than 70% of the entire network. The remaining centres, owned by franchisees, are rebranding to dissociate themselves from the company.
Centro AIKU Continues Operations Despite Closure of Other Centres
Centro Único in Malaga city, now known as ‘Centro AIKU’, remains operational as it is managed by a different company. However, affected customers from Marbella and Fuengirola cannot avail its services as it is not the same company as the closed salons.
Advice for Affected Customers
Lola García, Facua’s provincial president, advises affected customers to gather all information regarding their contracts and proof of payment to make claims. She also suggests those who have financed their treatments to contact their financial institution to halt payments.
Company’s Statement on Insolvency
Attempts to contact the main company that owns Centros Único have been unsuccessful. However, a statement on the company’s website explains the insolvency situation and assures customers that they will try to minimize disruption by proceeding with a liquidation sale that allows the continuity of the activity.
