Emergency Services Unite for Quality Assurance Drill at Marbella’s Playa de Levante
In a remarkable display of interdepartmental cooperation, over 40 emergency services personnel from various departments converged on Marbella’s Playa de Levante in Puerto Banús this week. The objective was to renew the beach’s Q for quality status, a certification that ensures the highest standards of safety and service for visitors. The team comprised of local police, firefighters, and lifeguards, among others.
Intensive Training Exercises to Renew Quality Certification
The renewal of the Q for quality status required the staff to participate in a series of exercises that spanned over an hour. These drills were designed to test their readiness and efficiency in handling different emergency situations. The certification is a testament to the beach’s commitment to maintaining top-notch safety measures and providing excellent services to its visitors.
Three Hypothetical Scenarios Put to the Test
The drill was divided into three distinct hypothetical scenarios to challenge the emergency services team. The first scenario involved an onland search for a missing child, testing the team’s ability to coordinate and execute a swift and effective search operation. The second scenario simulated a collision of two vessels, assessing the team’s response to maritime emergencies. The final scenario involved underwater tracking in the area surrounding the western breakwater, demonstrating the team’s proficiency in underwater rescue and recovery operations.
This comprehensive drill not only served to renew the Q for quality status of Marbella’s Playa de Levante but also showcased the readiness and competence of the emergency services personnel in ensuring the safety and well-being of the beach’s visitors.
