Driver Attempts to Evade Police Checkpoint in Marbella
In a daring incident, a motorist in Marbella reportedly tried to evade a police checkpoint. Ignoring the orders of the law enforcement officers who attempted to halt him, the driver sped off, initiating a high-speed chase. The incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday morning, according to police sources.
High-Speed Chase Ends in Arrest
The driver was apprehended on Calle Bernabé after leading the police on a chase during which he allegedly collided with a National Police vehicle. Once cornered, the man reportedly exited his vehicle and attempted to escape on foot. However, the officers were able to catch up with him and subsequently arrested him.
Chase Causes Damage to Vehicles
During the pursuit, the driver caused significant damage. In addition to the police car, several motorcycles parked along the street were destroyed due to the impact moments before the chase concluded.
Stolen Vehicle Suspected
Upon further investigation, it appears that the driver’s attempt to flee the scene may have been due to the fact that he was operating a stolen vehicle. This was discovered by the officers after the arrest.
