Marbella Town Hall Unveils Comprehensive Cultural Programme for Local School Children
Marbella Town Hall has announced a diverse range of activities for local schoolchildren as part of this year’s cultural programme. Carmen Díaz, the town hall’s director of culture and teaching, stated that the programme is designed to support schools in their educational work. The activities cover a broad spectrum of disciplines, aiming to foster creativity among students from infant to secondary school. The programme includes subjects such as science, local history, nature, and performing arts.
Archaeological Site Visits and Reading Activities Included in the Programme – Marbella’s School
Díaz revealed that the programme includes visits to the three archaeological sites on Thursdays and Fridays throughout the school year, and to Marbella’s old town on Thursdays. Reading activities will be organised with storytelling for infants and primary school children, and guided tours of the Fernando Alcalá library will also be arranged – Marbella’s School
Marpoética and Marcientífica Festivals and Trips to Nagüeles Fort
The cultural program also includes activities as part of the Marpoética and Marcientífica festivals, and trips to Nagüeles Fort. The performing arts offer at the Ciudad de Marbella theatre between January and May includes three shows for secondary schools.
Award-Winning Performances and Theatrical Adaptations
The first show, Recelo by Rafael Ramírez, winner of the Revelation Award at the Jerez Flamenco Festival and Desplante Award at La Unión International Festival in 2021, will begin on Thursday 25 January. The programme will continue with a version of El Perro del Hortelano, winner of the Lorca Prize for the best theatrical adaptation. The third proposal for secondary pupils will be Enloquecidas, by Marta Ocaña, a show recommended by the Andalusian Network of Public Theatres.
Activities for Infant and Primary School Pupils
A calendar of activities has been designed for infant and primary school pupils, including Uanna, a visual poetic story that tells the tale of a girl who is different from the rest. On 20 March, the puppet show Contando Jorobas will be performed for children from four years old.
Illustrated Book Presentation at Fernando Alcalá Central Library
On Friday 31 May, an illustrated book will be presented at the Fernando Alcalá central library. The book tells the story of Martín, a little boy who embarks on a classical musical adventure with his school.
