El Nini Beach Bar in Marbella Destroyed by Alleged Arson
In a shocking incident, the popular El Nini beach bar in San Pedro Alcantara, Marbella, was completely destroyed by a fire. The incident, which occurred in the early hours of the morning, is believed to have been caused by arsonists.
Previous Attempts at Arson Suspected
A partner at the restaurant, who identifies himself as an investor, revealed that there had been two previous attempts to set the establishment on fire. The investor is convinced that the fire was a deliberate act of arson. He also mentioned that the restaurant owners, who are of Chinese origin and own other restaurants in the area, have been in an ongoing dispute with the suspected person or group.
Security Cameras and Evidence
While the restaurant is equipped with security cameras, the investor did not comment on whether they had captured any evidence of the alleged arson. He did, however, mention that the previous two attempts to set the restaurant on fire had been unsuccessful.
Details of the Incident
According to the investor, the arsonists came better equipped this time and poured petrol through a side door. The beach bar, which had a thatched roof, quickly caught fire. Despite the quick response from various fire crews, they were unable to extinguish the flames.
Aftermath of the Fire
The aftermath of the fire left the beach bar completely destroyed, with even a palm tree above the establishment badly singed. All that remained was an awning at the front and a line of tables on San Pedro’s popular promenade. The roof had completely caved in, leaving no trace of its thatched part.
Rebuilding Plans and Challenges
The investor revealed that the restaurant had cost half a million and took almost a year to build. Despite the devastating fire, the owners plan to rebuild the establishment, albeit with less sensitive materials. However, they fear that a similar incident could happen again.
Investigation Underway
The Policia Nacional and Marbella’s Fire Brigade are currently investigating the cause of the fire. The fire is now completely under control, but the authorities have not released any further statements regarding the incident.
