Marbella Town Hall Nears Completion of New Children’s Play Area in Mediterráneo Park
Marbella’s town hall is putting the finishing touches on a new children’s play area in Mediterráneo Park. The playground, which spans over 600 square metres, will feature a maritime theme, complete with a replica fishing boat, a lighthouse, and a lifeguard tower.
Mayor Ángeles Muñoz Envisions Playground as Family Gathering Spot
Mayor Ángeles Muñoz, along with area councillor Diego López, recently toured the playground. Muñoz emphasized that the facilities, set to open in two weeks, will serve as a family gathering spot in a prime seaside location.
Playground Reflects Marbella’s Commitment to Children
The mayor pointed out that the playground, situated in El Pinillo, complements another 600 square metre children’s space that pays homage to Marbella’s mining history. “Our town is committed to children,” Muñoz stated, noting that the municipality currently boasts 107 facilities dedicated to children’s leisure and recreation.
New Beachfront Children’s Area to Feature Zip Wires, Slides, and Swings
The new beachfront children’s area will include two zip wires linking a lighthouse and a boat, as well as slides and swings. According to the mayor, these facilities, along with those adjacent to the sports courts, will rank among the largest of their kind on the Costa del Sol’s beaches. They are expected to attract thousands of families and tourists.
Mediterranean Park Offers Array of Attractions
Muñoz also highlighted the Mediterranean Park’s other features, which include nearly 2,000 square metres of pedestrian walkways, 700 square metres of gardens, and various sports courts. The park also offers an open-air gym, a calisthenics area, a climbing wall, and a car park with 260 parking spaces.
