Marbella Golfer Ángel Hidalgo Shines in DP World Tour’s Asian Leg
Marbella’s own Ángel Hidalgo has made a remarkable comeback in the DP World Tour’s Asian circuit. After a disappointing start to the season in Dubai, Hidalgo bounced back with a stellar performance at the Ras Al Khaimah Championship in the United Arab Emirates, securing an impressive ninth place.
From Disappointment in Dubai to Triumph in UAE
Hidalgo’s season debut in Dubai was less than ideal, failing to make the cut and missing out on the chance to be among the top contenders in the DP World Tour’s opening circuit. However, the Marbella golfer turned things around at the Ras Al Khaimah Championship.
Strong Start at Ras Al Khaimah Championship
Hidalgo kicked off his participation in the Ras Al Khaimah Championship with a score of 68, positioning himself as a strong contender for the final victory. He confirmed his strong form on the second day of competition, finishing with a score of 67.
Hidalgo’s Brilliant Performance Continues
With no issues making the cut, Hidalgo continued to excel on the third day, signing off with a brilliant score of 66 (-6), putting him firmly in the fight for the Top Ten. Despite a formidable performance from leader Olesen, Hidalgo held his own.
Securing Ninth Position and First Top Ten of the Season
Hidalgo wrapped up his participation in the UAE tournament with a score of 71 (-1), ultimately securing ninth place. This achievement marked his first Top Ten of the season and earned him a prize of 45,000 euros. This result allowed Hidalgo to put his disappointing start in Dubai behind him and surpass his previous best result in this tournament, which was the 28th place he achieved in 2023.
Victory for Denmark’s Thorbjorn Olesen
The victory went to Denmark’s Thorbjorn Olesen, who delivered an extraordinary performance with a score of 261 (-27).
