Massive Turnout at the XVI Duathlon for Minors in Marbella City

Over 400 children participated in the XVI Duathlon for Minors in Marbella City this Sunday. The competition took place on the promenade of San Pedro, attracting athletes from all over the community. This event was the second scoring test of the Andalusian Duathlon Circuit for Minors.

Local Athlete Shines in the Competition

The best result from the local athletes was the third place achieved by Blanca Berlanga in the youth category. Following the adult competition, the minor’s race began. The first starting signal for the XVI Duathlon for Minors in Marbella City was heard at 11 am, although the area of Nueva Alcántara was already crowded with duathletes from all the Andalusian Triathlon Schools, along with their companions, as the material control time started at 10 am.

Wide Range of Participants in the XVI Duathlon for Minors

A total of 404 minors participated in the XVI Duathlon for Minors in Marbella City, ranging from the youth category (born in 2007/08) to the prebenjamin category (born in 2017/18). All of them traveled to the coastal town to participate in the 2nd scoring test of the 8 that make up the X Andalusian Duathlon Circuit for Minors. Throughout the morning, the different categories started their races.

Event Concludes with Prize Distribution

The event concluded around 3 pm, after the award ceremony for the minor’s race. The best result from the local athletes was the third place achieved by Blanca Berlanga in the youth category. The duathlete from the Serman Triathlon Marbella Group finished less than a minute behind the winner Natalia Ramírez (Montilla-Córdoba Triathlon). Also in the youth category, Antonio Marqués (Montilla-Córdoba Triathlon) claimed victory.

Winners from Various Categories

In the cadet category, the winners were Judith Caballar and Hugo Márquez, both from CDT Triolalla. Águeda Caballar (CDT Triolalla) and Santiago Núñez (CD Triclub Babyschool) claimed victory in the children’s category; while Marta Valverde (CD Vas) and Guillermo Rodríguez (Triathlon Tijola) prevailed in the alevines. In the benjamin category, the winners were Natalia García (CD Galosport) and Alejandro Burgos (CT Málaga).
