Marino Villar Triumphs as 125 cc Champion on the Podium

Marino Villar kicked off the Andalusian MX Championship this Saturday with a race held at the “Manuel Clemente” circuit in Chiclana de la Frontera. The young Marbella rider, who is competing in both the Junior 125 cc Trophy and the MX2 Elite this year, managed to climb the podium in both categories, securing first place in 125 cc and second place in MX2 Elite.

Andalusian MX Championship Begins with First Race

The Andalusian MX Championship got underway this weekend with the first race at the “Manuel Clemente” circuit in Chiclana de la Frontera. Young Marbella rider Marino Villar will be competing in both the Junior 125 cc Trophy category and the MX2 Elite. The grid for this first race consisted of a total of 37 riders, including those in the top MX1 (450 cc) category.

Marino Villar’s Performance in the Qualifying Rounds

In the timed qualifying rounds, Marino achieved the second best record in 125 cc, fourth in MX2, and seventh overall (MX1, MX2 and 125 cc). The two races of the weekend were marked by strong winds that made driving on a very sandy surface challenging, forcing the riders to bring out their best skills.

Marino Villar’s Victory in the First Race

In the first race, Marino made a good start and after the first turn managed to take the lead in 125 cc and third in MX2. The Marbella rider managed to maintain this until the last four laps when he lost a place in MX2, but claimed victory in 125 cc. Marino Villar led the first race in 125 cc and came second in the second race.

Challenging Conditions in the Second Race

The wind was a major factor in the second race where, after a good start, Marino was second in 125 cc and fifth in MX2. After several turns, young Villar managed to gain a place in MX2, a position he held until the end given the increasing difficulty of the race due to the dust raised by the wind and reduced visibility.

Marino Villar’s Calculated Risk Pays Off

The Marbella rider did not take any unnecessary risks, made his calculations and with that second place managed to proclaim himself the winner in the 125 cc category with 47 points. He also won bronze in MX2.

Next Stop for Marino Villar

The next appointment for young Marino Villar will be this weekend at the second race of the Elite Spain Championship to be held at the “Jorge Prado-Motopark” circuit in Lugo.
