Marbella Rugby Club’s Outstanding Performance at the Spanish Championship
The Marbella Rugby Club made a significant impact at the Spanish Under-14 Championship and the National Development Tournament in the same category. These events were held at the Pepe Rojo Sports Facilities in Valladolid. The Marbella RC’s Blue team secured a commendable fourth place in the Spanish Under-14 Championship.
Two Teams Representing Marbella Rugby Club
The Pepe Rojo Sports Facilities in Valladolid hosted both the Spanish Championship and the National Tournament in the Under-14 category. The Marbella Rugby Club was represented by two teams, one for each sporting competition. The Marbella RC’s Blue team, which had previously secured the runner-up position in Andalusia, had the privilege of competing against some of the best young teams in Spain over two intense days of rugby.
Marbella RC’s Impressive Start to the Tournament
The tournament kicked off on Saturday with an energized Marbella RC team that managed to secure two victories. In the first match, the Marbella team triumphed over the challenging Club de Rugby Liceo Francés, with a score of 15-12. The next match saw them face Les Abelles RC, where they again emerged victorious with a score of 10-5.
Marbella RC’s Performance on the Second Day
Despite a strong start, the Marbella team was not as fortunate on the second day of the competition. They suffered losses against Club de Rugby San Cugat and VRAC Queso Entrepinares, showing signs of fatigue. Despite these setbacks, the Marbella RC Blue team had an excellent championship run, finishing in fourth place and confirming their status as one of the best young teams in Spain.
Marbella RC’s White Team in the National Under-14 Division 2 Development Tournament
The Marbella RC’s White team participated in the National Under-14 Division 2 Development Tournament. The White team included players from the Under-12 team and eight players from the CDU University of Granada. On the first day, they faced Club Rugby Majadahonda A, VRAC Queso Entrepinares, Rugby Club Ponent, and CD Rugby Mairena. Although they were unable to secure a win, they put up a good fight. On the second day, the Marbella team faced CAU Rugby Valencia B and Club Rugby Ciencias B, securing two substantial victories and once again demonstrating their strong competitive spirit.
