Marbella FC has found its opponent for the final playoff for promotion to 1st RFEF. The team will face UD Logroñés, a team that finished third in Group II. The draw for the final playoffs for promotion to 1st RFEF took place at the headquarters of the Spanish Football Federation earlier today. The draw has resulted in some very interesting matches, from which five new teams will emerge for 1st RFEF.

Interestingly, the only playoff between third-placed teams will be the one between Marbella FC and UD Logroñés. This presents an advantage for both teams as in the event of a tie after the playoff, the match will be decided in a penalty shootout after extra time.
UD Logroñés: A Young Club with a Strong Season
UD Logroñés is a young club, founded in 2009, following the disappearance of the legendary Club Deportivo Logroñés, which spent nine seasons in the First Division. The new entity took the place of Club Deportivo Varea, from the same neighborhood in Logroño, in the old Second Division B. The new opponent of Marbella FC finished this season in third position within Group II after an excellent year in which they only lost three matches.
Former Marbella Player in UD Logroñés Ranks
Among the ranks of the Riojan team is a former Marbella player, Asier Goti. The veteran winger, who played for Marbella in the 2016/17 season, has alternated between starting and substitute roles this season, proving to be a key player in changing the pace of matches. He has also scored three goals this campaign.
First Leg at La Dama de Noche, Return at Las Gaunas
The first leg of the match will be played this weekend at La Dama de Noche, while the return will be decided at the iconic Las Gaunas, the weekend of June 1 and 2. Logroñés reached this final playoff after eliminating Guijuelo, with whom they drew 0-0 in the Salamanca town and won 1-0 at Las Gaunas.
