Marbella City Council Announces New Housing Development Plan
The governing team of Marbella City Council announced on Tuesday that they will present a sectorization plan for Marbería at the next plenary session. The plan includes the construction of 385 homes in the western area of Nagüeles. With the process now beginning, nearly 320,000 square meters in a development-pending area will be organized.
Project Details Discussed in Local Government Board Meeting
The project was discussed at the Local Government Board meeting on Tuesday. Once approved in the plenary, it will be open to public exhibition and sectoral reports will be requested. The action includes around 71,000 meters of general free area systems, which will be arranged as a river park around the two existing streams, De la Cruz and Nagüeles.
Green Spaces and Commercial Use Areas Included in the Plan
There will also be 52,000 square meters of green and recreational spaces and about 2,300 square meters for commercial use. The planning criteria, as explained, respond to a model of low-density residential-tourist development that foresees the construction of 385 homes, 166 of which will be protected. They will have a planned typology of Mediterranean village for the free and multifamily for the protected.
Infrastructure Developments and Other Matters
It was also explained that a road will be built to connect the ‘La Capellanía’ and ‘San Francisco’ urbanizations and the Camino de los Manchones, which will be redeveloped and expanded southwards to connect with Sierra de Cazorla street, creating a northern roundabout in the Nagüeles area.
In this context, the Local Government Board has approved four new classified activities, three of hospitality without music and one of hospitality with music. Two building licenses for single-family homes in Las Lomas de Marbella Club and Nueva Andalucía were also approved, each with an investment of 900,000 euros.
Additionally, a license for the undergrounding of two high voltage lines in Nueva Andalucía was endorsed, with a budget of 484,000 euros and 572,000 euros. The justification for grants related to the rehabilitation of the structure of the Órgano del Sol Mayor of the Encarnación church (30,000 euros), the conducting of workshops, concerts, and conferences by the Peña Flamenca Sierra Blanca (10,000 euros), and the development in the municipality of the University of Málaga’s Summer Courses (30,000 euros) was also reported.
