Marbella to Host the Fourth Edition of Serandipians Traveller Made Congress
Marbella is set to host the fourth in-person edition of the Serandipians by Traveller Made congress next week. The event, which is organized by the association of luxury travel agencies, will bring together around a thousand professionals. The congress first came to the city in 2019 but was unable to take place in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic. However, it made a comeback in 2022.
Significant Economic Impact Expected
The Mayor of Marbella, Ángeles Muñoz, highlighted the importance of the event, stating it is one of the most significant in the sector worldwide. The congress is expected to generate an economic impact in Marbella of between 2.5 and 3 million euros. This is a significant gathering of the most relevant international agents in the excellence segment, and it is coming to the city for the fourth time.
Event Details and Previous Successes
The congress will take place from March 18 to 22 at the Adolfo Suárez Congress and Fair Palace in Marbella. Quentin Desurmont, the president of the Traveller Made association, emphasized the success of the previous congresses held in the city. He noted that they had never repeated a destination more than twice, but Marbella has already hosted four editions.
Growth in the Luxury Travel Sector
Desurmont also highlighted the growth of the sector in recent years, with revenue from hotel bookings associated with the entity in the Marbella area increasing from one million euros in 2019 to four million in 2022. This figure does not include additional spending by these tourists, which often doubles these amounts.
Andalusia’s Potential in the Luxury Sector
Gemma del Corral, the regional delegate of Tourism of the Board in Malaga, was also present at the event. She pointed out that Andalusia has a great potential for growth in the luxury sector. The congress, titled ‘The Essence of Luxury Travel’, is expected to have a direct impact on the destination of nearly four million euros.
