Condé Nast Traveler’s Gold List 2025 Features Marbella Club
Discerning travellers now have a new reference list of the world’s best hotels, with one of them located on the Costa del Sol. The five-star Gran Lujo Marbella Club has confirmed its global standing as a premier accommodation by making it to Condé Nast Traveler’s exclusive Gold List 2025. This list features the top seventy places to stay in the coming year.
Spanish Hotels Shine on the Gold List
The Gold List is an annual compilation of the world’s best hotels, resorts, and cruises. Among the seventy selected, only three Spanish hotels made the cut. Alongside the Marbella Club, the only one in Andalucia, the Cap Rocat in Mallorca and the Gran Hotel Inglés in Madrid have also been included. The list was curated by Condé Nast Traveler’s global editorial team from Spain, Germany, India, Italy, the UK, China, the Middle East, and the US.
Marbella Club Celebrates 70 Years of Service
The Marbella Club Hotel is wrapping up a year of celebrations, marking 70 years of service. The establishment, which was born out of Prince Alfonso de Hohenlohe’s love for Finca Margarita in 1946, opened its doors in 1954. This milestone coincides with a time of new plans, including a significant project to double its 50,000 square metres of gardens.
Marbella Club: A Favourite Among Celebrities
Over the course of these seventy years, this five-star hotel has been a preferred retreat for members of the European aristocracy and Hollywood stars. These stars, who traded the French Riviera for Marbella, put it on the map as one of the most exclusive and sophisticated tourism destinations. Among these stars were Brigitte Bardot, Gunther Sachs, Audrey Hepburn, Ava Gardner, Grace Kelly, Antonio el Bailarín, Elizabeth Taylor, Julio Iglesias, Kim Novak, Liza Minelli, James Stewart, and Sean Connery. Kings and princes, such as the kings of Sweden and the King Emeritus of Spain himself, Don Juan Carlos, and even his father Don Juan, have also enjoyed these facilities.
Marbella Club Continues to Attract A-Listers
The hotel’s success has endured over time, attracting artists and sports personalities such as Lady Gaga, Cristiano Ronaldo, Lenny Kravitz, and Valeria Mazza. These celebrities continue to praise the privacy they enjoy in the 131 rooms, which include 17 villas with up to six bedrooms, with prices that can reach 28,000 euros in high season. They enjoy the two swimming pools and the seven restaurants, as well as the large jetty facing the sea, the unique holistic studio, and the kids club, which is one of the largest in Europe.
