Arrests Made in Connection to Marbella Shooting

One of the individuals arrested in this police operation following a shooting in Marbella has been identified. The National Police have clarified the attempted murder of two Swedish citizens in Marbella in connection with a shooting that took place on February 10th on Yedras Street in Nueva Andalucía, which resulted in one person being shot in the arm and leg. The incident is believed to be a result of a feud between rival clans.

Three Detained, Including Alleged Gunman

Three individuals have been detained, one of whom is the alleged gunman. The operation, named “Falla,” led to the arrest of three individuals in the province of Málaga, with the assistance of Swedish police officers. The individuals are suspected of involvement in attempted murder, illegal possession of weapons, membership in a criminal organization, and document forgery.

Joint Investigation by National Police and UDYCO-Costa del Sol

The investigation was jointly conducted by officers assigned to the Organized Crime Group II of the Provincial Police Station of Málaga and their counterparts at the Marbella Police Station, all from UDYCO-Costa del Sol. The investigation began following a shooting that occurred on February 10th, around 11:00 PM, on Yedras Street in the Nueva Andalucía area of Marbella.

Victims Attacked by Masked Gunman

Two citizens were walking on the street when they were approached by a man wearing a ski mask, who got out of a vehicle and opened fire on them. In this context, the victims fled on foot, although one of them was injured by gunfire, receiving two bullet wounds in the arm and leg, and was admitted to a hospital without fear for his life.

Investigation Leads to Arrests

A meticulous analysis of the evidence found at the scene allowed the police to establish the route taken by the shooter, leading them to the residence where he was hiding. Thanks to a thorough and methodical investigation, the police were able to identify other suspects who allegedly provided logistical support and surveillance of the victims to the shooter.

Three Members of Criminal Plot Arrested

Finally, on March 13th, two house searches were carried out, one in Marbella and another in Alhaurín El Grande, resulting in the arrest of three members of the criminal plot. Among the items seized were a loaded magazine, apparently belonging to the pistol used for the murder, and ammunition. The arrested individuals, aged between 24 and 31, were brought before the Marbella Court of Instruction, with two of them being ordered to be held in custody.

Two More Shootings in Marbella

The National Police are also investigating two more shootings that took place last week in Marbella, one on Monday 11th, in broad daylight, and another in the early hours of Saturday 16th. The first incident resulted in no casualties, while the second left one person injured by gunfire. Both incidents occurred in Puerto Banús.
