British Tourists Flock to Spain for Summer Holidays
This summer, Spain has been a popular holiday destination for many British tourists. The country’s picturesque cities, towns, and beaches, coupled with its rich cuisine and favourable weather, have made it an ideal vacation spot. However, it’s not just the scenic landscapes and vibrant street life that have captivated these visitors. Spanish supermarkets have also become a point of interest, offering a unique cultural experience.
TikTok Influencer Shares Spanish Supermarket Experience
Georgia, a young British woman known as @georgiacluttonbaxter on TikTok, recently spent her holiday in Marbella, a city on Spain’s Costa del Sol. During her stay, she and her friends visited a local Mercadona supermarket. She shared her shopping experience on TikTok, showcasing the store and the products that caught her attention the most.
British Tourist Amazed by Mercadona Products
In her video, Georgia first highlighted a large jar of olives and a Sunny brand orange drink, referring to them as staple food items. She then moved on to the bakery section, expressing her admiration for the American-style cakes. She also filmed a female employee operating a floor cleaning machine, which she humorously referred to as a lawnmower.
Controversy Over Handling Vegetables Without Gloves
Georgia’s video also featured her handling a large red pepper without gloves, an action that sparked criticism from some viewers who deemed it unhygienic. In response to the backlash, Georgia posted another video showing other customers handling produce without gloves, implying that she was not the only one doing so. Despite her justification, many still insisted that wearing gloves when handling fruits and vegetables is the proper practice.
