The Marbella-based eatery, owned by the Casanis group, emerged victorious in the Restaurant & Bar Awards, a prestigious event that honors the world’s best restaurants and bars. The restaurant bagged the top prize in the Surface Interiors category.

The Restaurant & Bar Design Awards is a globally recognized event, often referred to as the ‘Oscars of interior design’. This year, the competition was fierce with 1,130 nominations from 61 different countries. The panel of judges comprised some of the most influential figures in design, hospitality, and lifestyle worldwide.
Spanish Restaurants Shine at the Awards
Two Spanish restaurants were among the winners this year. Apart from Nota Blu New Brasserie in Marbella, Baovan in Valencia also won in the color category. Internationally, Cicchetti in London was named the best restaurant, while Luma in Adelaide, Australia, was recognized as the best bar.

The restaurant, designed by Astet Studio, aims to strike a balance between tradition and modernity, creating a space where simplicity and sophistication coexist.

The restaurant’s design is inspired by the Mediterranean, with a focus on creating a welcoming, sophisticated, and fresh space. The design incorporates elements of nature, using materials like wood and natural stones to create an organic feeling and fluidity between spaces.

Opened in October 2022, Nota Blu New Brasserie serves traditional French cuisine. Chef Fabián Cangas combines traditional cuisine with a modern touch, creating timeless dishes with a fresh perspective.

Located on Camino de la Cruz, in Monte Paraíso, Nota Blu New Brasserie is one of the largest restaurants in the area. The establishment, which created 80 new jobs, can accommodate up to 400 seated guests and 800 standing guests.
Art and Design at the Heart of Nota Blu New Brasserie
The restaurant’s decor, featuring sculptures by South African artist Joseph Klibansky, has been a major draw since its inception. As part of its commitment to design, the restaurant welcomed the festive season with a unique Christmas tree designed by artist Manuel Espejo in collaboration with Ruinart. The upside-down tree, made up of 202 golden balls, mimics the bubbles given off by champagne bottles.
