Spain’s Transport Ministry Takes Action Against Traffic Noise on Costa del Sol Motorway
Spain’s Ministry for Transport and Sustainable Mobility has embarked on a project to mitigate the noise pollution caused by traffic on the Marbella bypass of the Costa del Sol motorway (AP-7). The initiative, which involves the installation of a series of screens, is set to disrupt traffic from 9th September to 4th October.
Details of Traffic Disruptions and Road Closures
The government has announced that the right hard shoulder heading eastbound towards Malaga city will be closed between kilometre points 1,049.660 and 1,048.960. Furthermore, the right hard shoulder on the eastbound slip road towards Malaga between PPK. 1044+100 and 1044+400 will also be closed.
Schedule of Road Closures
The closures will be in effect from 7am to 7pm from Monday to Thursday. On Fridays, the closures will be from 7am to 1pm. However, traffic will resume as normal from 1pm on Friday until 7am on Monday, providing some relief to motorists during the weekends.
