Police Extract Detainee from Marbella Padel Club
The moment when police officers removed one of the detainees was captured. A large number of national police officers, supported by a helicopter, entered the Real Club de Padel in Marbella on Thursday morning. The club, which includes a gym among its facilities, witnessed several arrests.
Operation Not Targeting Specific Individuals
Despite the arrests, it was clarified that this was a routine operation and not aimed at capturing any specific individual. The deployment was quite noticeable, with a significant police presence in this area of Marbella, located in the Lorcrimar urbanization, in Altos del Rodeo, in the district of Nueva Andalucía.
Police Access Exclusive Sports Facilities
Officers accessed the sports facilities, particularly the gym, to the astonishment of the customers, in one of the most exclusive paddle clubs in the municipality. Several arrests were confirmed, with Cadena SER specifying three people arrested.
Part of Routine “Plan Marbella”
Police sources indicate that this is a routine operation within the so-called “Plan Marbella” that was recently launched against organized crime. Therefore, it was not an action aimed at arresting a specific criminal who was being tracked, as is the case on other occasions.
Response to Recent Shootings
On April 11, in response to a series of shootings in a short period of time, the government activated the “Plan Marbella” with a reinforcement of officers in the municipality. Personnel from the Police Intervention Unit and the Prevention and Reaction Unit arrived at various police stations in Eastern Andalusia, in addition to Canine Guides and Aerial Means.
Increased Pressure on Organized Crime
The police pressure on organized crime has increased considerably, and this morning’s intervention is another example. The operation at the Real Club de Padel in Marbella, which resulted in several arrests, was a significant deployment of resources.
