Preparations Underway for the Grand Holy Thursday Procession
The Brotherhood of Calvary of Marbella is already making preparations for a grand Holy Thursday, with a procession that will feature a new schedule as its main novelty. The departure time has been moved forward by half an hour. There will also be various premieres and the musical accompaniment of the Montesa Cavalry Regiment number 3 from Ceuta will be repeated.
Brotherhood’s Preparations in Full Swing
Preparations such as the distribution of tunics, face-to-face attention to the brothers, and new applications have been attended to for weeks at the Calvary facilities. The Brotherhood will keep its doors open for the reception and attention of brothers and new brothers on March 13, 14, and 15 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., and from March 18 to 23 at the same time.
New Departure Time for the Procession
The big novelty for the next Holy Thursday is that the procession will depart at 5:30 p.m., half an hour earlier than what has been customary in recent years. The musical accompaniment of the Montesa Cavalry Regiment number 3 from Ceuta, which was already present in the 2023 parade, will be repeated.
Various Premieres to Look Forward to
There will be various premieres such as the banner of Saint John the Evangelist, which has been commissioned to Manu Vaquerizo for the Young Group of the Brotherhood. Also, lanterns, horns, parish cross, acolyte candlesticks, and maces, designed by the Paula Orfebres Workshop in Lucena, will be introduced. Lastly, a horn cloth executed by members of the Brotherhood will also be premiered.
Solemn Triduum in Honor of the Sacred Holders
During Lent, from March 13 to 15 at 7:30 p.m., the Solemn Triduum in honor of the Sacred Holders will take place at the Parish of the Most Holy Christ of Calvary, led by Rafael Rodríguez de Sainz, Parish Priest of the Church of Calvary. The imposition of medals and welcome to the new brothers will also take place at the Calvary Parish on March 15 at 6:30 p.m.
Transfer of the Sacred Holders
The Via Crucis of the transfer of the Sacred Holders from the Calvary Parish to the Calvary Hermitage will be on March 15, at 8:15 p.m.
