Marbella Climbing Club Shines in the Spanish Nordic Walking Cup
Juan Carlos Cabello secured the absolute third place in the first test of the Spanish Nordic Walking Cup 2024. The Marbella Climbing Club added three podium finishes to its tally this weekend.
Individual Achievements
Juan Carlos Cabello achieved the absolute third place, while Óscar Rueda and Sara Dabrio managed to climb the podium in their respective categories, in addition to being fourth overall.
Club’s Participation in the Event
The Marbella Climbing Club traveled to Navarra this weekend to participate in the first Iberdrola Spanish Nordic Walking Test. The event was organized by the Peña Azagresa Mountain Club, the Spanish Mountain Sports Federation (FEDME), the Azagra City Council, and the Navarra Regional Government.
Performance of the Club’s Athletes
The Marbella Climbing Club attended the test with three of its athletes who aimed for the top and managed to climb the podium after completing a 12.8-kilometer course. CEM walker Juan Carlos Cabello secured the third place with a time of 1h16:19, also achieving the second place in the senior category.
Team Achievements
In addition, his teammates Óscar Rueda and Sara Dabrio finished in fourth position in the absolute category, but they did climb the podium in the veteran B and veteran A categories, respectively.
