On Monday, 6 November 2023, a man was apprehended by the police for allegedly stealing a cash register containing 500 euros from a store on the Costa del Sol during Halloween. The suspect, who was wearing a Halloween mask, committed the crime in Marbella in the early hours of Tuesday, 31 October, and was caught a few minutes later in a nearby street. The police found the stolen cash register in a trash bag the man was carrying, which also contained nearly 500 euros and a black iPad. The 47-year-old Moroccan suspect, a resident of Fuengirola, is also accused of attempting to rob a restaurant on Calle Miguel Cano, but was unsuccessful. Upon his arrest, the police discovered an outstanding warrant for his arrest for another alleged robbery in Ceuta, as reported by the Marbella town hall. The suspect is now awaiting trial in Ceuta for these charges.
