Expansion of Nueva Andalucía Health Centre to Commence Next Week
Marbella’s Mayor, Ángeles Muñoz, has announced that the expansion of the Nueva Andalucía health centre will commence next week. The first phase of the project will involve the creation of a new car park, as the expanded facility will be situated on the existing parking area. The new parking space will provide 50 slots on the adjacent plot of land.
One Million Euro Investment and 12-Month Completion Period
The expansion project is backed by an investment of one million euros and is expected to be completed within a year. Mayor Muñoz stated that the progress of the work will be visible throughout 2025, and by 2026, the new facility will be operational.
Doubling the Capacity with New Consulting Rooms
The new building will cover an area of over 400 square metres, effectively doubling the capacity of the existing facility. It will feature 11 new consulting rooms, including six for general medicine, two for paediatrics, two for nursing, and one for family planning. The facility will also have separate waiting rooms, and upgraded toilets, reception, and storeroom facilities.
Marbella’s Fifth Updated Healthcare Facility
With the new facility, Marbella will have five modern healthcare facilities, including Nueva Andalucía, Las Chapas, San Pedro, Las Albarizas, and Ricardo Soriano. The Costa del Sol University Hospital in Marbella will also be extended soon, according to Mayor Muñoz. She emphasized the necessity of these health centres for primary care due to the lack of space and inadequate infrastructure and facilities.
Other Projects in Nueva Andalucía
Mayor Muñoz also highlighted other ongoing projects in the Nueva Andalucía area, such as the recently inaugurated multi-purpose centre and sports club. She announced that fencing work in the Guadaiza area will begin before the end of the year, and the final phase of the river walk project will be completed soon.
