Eracis+ Program Launched to Improve Employment Opportunities in Marbella
The Eracis+ program, an initiative by the Andalusian Government in collaboration with the City Council, is now underway. The program aims to improve the employment prospects of 850 individuals at risk of social exclusion in Marbella. The Las Albarizas Civic Center, which had been abandoned for two years, was renovated to host this program, funded with 1.1 million euros.
Program Presented by Local Authorities
The program was presented on Wednesday by Mayor Ángeles Muñoz and the Territorial Delegate for Social Inclusion, Youth, Families, and Equality, Ruth Sarabia. Despite being the first time the program is launched, the mayor stated that it has achieved excellent results in previous years and will continue until 2028. She emphasized that the primary goal is to improve the quality of life of citizens by providing this vulnerable group with the opportunity to find employment through personalized pathways.
Investment and Support from European Social Fund Plus
The investment amounts to 1.1 million euros, co-financed by the European Social Fund Plus of the Andalusian Government and the City Council. The program will have a multidisciplinary team consisting of four technicians: a psychologist, a job counselor, a social worker, and an educator.
European Funds for the Program Exceed Fifteen Million
Sarabia pointed out that the European funds allocated to this program throughout the province exceed fifteen million euros, with the Las Albarizas Civic Center being the focal point of a circuit that includes Málaga, Ronda, Vélez-Málaga, and Torremolinos. She explained that the program has evolved over time, with special attention now being paid to the duration of contracts to promote stability.
Program’s Roadmap
Sarabia added that the program’s roadmap begins with the selection of families who can benefit. This is followed by social and psychological work to assess their current situation and their ability to handle a job. They are then offered specialized training, and the process concludes with their effective incorporation into the workforce.
