Carrasco, a player for Unicaja, participated in two friendly matches that the Spanish team played against Poland. In both matches, the Spanish team emerged victorious, marking a positive step in their preparation for the European Championship.
Preparations for Future Tournaments and Championships
During Easter week, various Spanish junior basketball teams held training camps in preparation for future tournaments and championships. The meeting point was the town of Íscar in Valladolid. Sampedreño Daniel Carrasco participated in the U-16 men’s team training camp, marking his debut in a call-up with the national team. He looks forward to the possibility of participating in the upcoming European Championship.
Two Friendly Matches Against Poland
The team played two friendly matches during this training camp, both against the Polish team, and both ended in victory for Spain. The U-16 Spanish team, led by Manolo Aller and Carles Flores, was able to give all its players some game time in these two matches. In the first match played on Friday, March 29, Spain won 98-68, demonstrating their superiority. The following day, Spain won again, this time with a slightly tighter score of 79-65.
Daniel Carrasco’s Debut with the National Team
Daniel Carrasco, who stands at 1.89 meters and plays as a point guard for the Unicaja cadet team, had the opportunity to play his first minutes with the red jersey of the national team.
Continued Preparation for the European Championship
The Spanish team continues its preparation for the European Championship in Heraklion, Greece, where they will defend their 2023 title. They will play the first phase in Group A alongside Turkey, Latvia, and Finland starting from August 9.
