Major Police Operation Targets Drug Trade in Marbella’s Las Albarizas Neighbourhood
In the early hours of Tuesday, the Las Albarizas neighbourhood in Marbella witnessed a significant police operation. The National Police officers were deployed to crack down on drug trafficking and other criminal activities prevalent in the area. It is anticipated that around twenty entries and searches will be conducted as part of this operation.
Threefold Approach to Tackle Crime
The operation, as per police sources, is being executed with a three-pronged strategy. The primary objective is to eliminate the sale of narcotic substances in the area. The second goal is to restore urban legality, and the third is to ensure the maintenance of public safety and order.
Multiple Units Involved in the Operation
The operation saw the involvement of numerous units. These included the judicial police from the Malaga National Police’s provincial headquarters and the Marbella police station. The Udyco drugs and organised crime unit Costa del Sol, police intervention units (UIP), prevention and reaction unit (UPR), special operational security group (GOES), operational group of technical interventions of the National Police (GOIT), foreign national and forensic units were also part of the operation. Aerial means and horse and dog units were also deployed to ensure the success of the operation.
