Drug Operations Uncovered in Marbella Businesses

Two local businesses in Marbella were closed down after police discovered they were being used as fronts for drug dealing. The local law enforcement arrested two individuals and confiscated over 800 grams of drugs, 80 marijuana cigarettes, nearly 1.5 kilograms of hashish in tablet form, and more than 1,300 euros in cash. Additionally, four knives, a butcher’s cleaver, a baseball bat, and a fake revolver were seized, according to a statement from the Marbella town hall.

First Operation in Puerto Banús

The first operation was carried out in the second week of August in the Puerto Banús area. Undercover police officers, observing a constant flow of people, many of them foreigners, entering and exiting one of the businesses, decided to investigate. Upon entering the premises, they discovered that the business was operating without a license and found what appeared to be marijuana on the shelves. After calling for backup, a team of officers, including the local police dog unit, intervened.

The police found hashish tablets weighing 1,329.1 grams, 316.6 grams of marijuana, and a glass jar with 17 marijuana cigarettes. They also confiscated 1,103.44 euros in cash, two precision scales, and four knives with traces of hashish. A 25-year-old man from the Republic of Mozambique was arrested.

Second Operation in Marbella Town Centre

The second operation took place on Thursday, 22 August, in the eastern part of the town centre. Once again, plain-clothed officers noticed a steady stream of people entering and exiting a business. Upon entering the premises, they found that the business was operating without a license and discovered marijuana and hashish on the shelves.

During the operation, the police seized 491.5 grams of hashish and 63 cigars containing the substance. They also confiscated 250 euros in cash, two scales, a butcher’s cleaver, a wooden chopping board, a baseball bat, and a fake revolver. A 39-year-old Dutch man was arrested.
